Moving away from WordPress

I know, right. Seems insane, but it's true. It's been coming for some time now, but recent life events have moved up the time table, so I'm somewhat caught starting over again and being relieved that I've moved on. First of all, there's almost nothing wrong with WordPress. It's a fine platform and I've dedicated many years to knowing it inside and out (as much as any non-developer can, of course). I'm just done with it's unnecessary complexity and... lack of certain things.

This, however, is not a bash WP post. It's a welcome again post.

So, hi!

The site you are reading this on is called PostHaven. It's a super slim blogging system designed to run for a lifetime (ahem), and while they are adding new features, they are doing it very (VERY) slowly. Besides, what features does one really need to post a series of words in a mostly cognizant stream of awareness? So, at five dollars American per month for up to ten blogs, a super clean, light weight backend, nicely simple sosh integration, and a clean, non-corporate whiff about the whole thing, I just had to make the move. Permanently.

The only thing I'm a little disappointed about it that I can't import my old site data. In fact, there is no import at all, something I hope they fix sometime really, REALLY soon. I've written a lot of material and I don't want to lose it, which I won't, but you get the idea. I want to have what I write in one place, and I want that place to be PostHaven. Well, in reality, it is PostHaven, but I want my older stuff here, as well.

Oh well, that's whats going on. So, hang out, if you like. I'll be pimping to Facepoops and Twatter for traffic, but I'll be developing my sosh over at from now on. Keep an eye out and thanks for reading all these years :D
